The Definitive Maritime Conference & Exhibition in Asia

Marintec China - The All China Maritime Conference and Exhibition

From its inception in 1981, Marintec China has become the definitive maritime conference and exhibition in Asia. Marintec China 2005 attracted 1,032 exhibiting companies and 30,097 visitors to the fair, which are 27.6% and 24.7% higher than the previous edition respectively, and is the largest edition of its 24 years of history.

With more and more international companies exhibiting at the fair and the concurrent Senior Maritime Forum attracting more and more international awareness, Marintec China has become the most important international maritime trade fair in the region.

Market Potential

The fast-growing Chinese economy and rapidly developing foreign trade has resulted in a speedy increase in the Chinese marine transportation volume, and also created a momentum in the global sea transportation industry. In the past 3 years, China accounted for more than 90% of the world bulk cargo sea transportation volume's increment. China's demand for new shipping in 2006-2010 is forecast to be 31 million DWT, or approximately 6.2 million DWT on average per year.

On the other hand, China's cargo and container throughput has already been the top of the world for 3 consecutive years. In 2005, Shanghai Port's throughput reached 443 million tons, propelling it to the position of the world's largest port. Container throughput reached 18 million TEUs, which topped the world's third place for three consecutive years.

All these positive elements provide a favourable environment for both the domestic and international maritime industry to excel, and Marintec China will provide the perfect platform for your company to explore these tremendous business opportunities.
