Until Aug 30th , 2006, Jiangnan Changxing shipyard has signed 35 new ships construction contracts with another option 6 ships, totally over 5 million tons, already being fully arranged till year 2010.
In all these orders, 17 ships are 290, 700 dwt VLCC, 8 ships are 5,100TEU container ships.
The VLCC is 330 meters in overall length, 60 meters wide, 29.7 meters high, 19.2 meters draft, 16.8kts speed, and being able to continuously cruise for 27,500 nautical miles. 5,100TEU container ship is a new developed Panamax type, with 294 meters long, 32.2 meters wide, 21.8 meters depth, 25.2kts service speed, and being able to continuously cruise for 20,000 nautical miles.
