On October 28th, 2006, CSSC and China Shipping (Group) Company held a ceremony in Beijing for signing a contract on building four 308,000 dwt VLCC. This is the first new shipbuilding order for Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Base shortly after it began to be built. By the end of October 2006, CSSC had acquired accumulated 17.52million dwt new ship orders in this year, up 361% compared with the same period of last year. In terms of sales dollars, all contracts signed in this year were RMB76.9billion (US.61billion), increased 246% compared with the prior year. The amount of hold contracts broke the level of 30million dwt, reached 30.21million dwt. All major shipbuilding manufacturers belong to CSSC had been fully loaded, new ship orders had been arranged to year 2010.
